170th Year Celebration

On August 4th First Baptist Church will be celebrating our 170th anniversary.  To celebrate we are hosting a special service to include special guests, special music, and a lunch.  We hope you will join us on August 4th at 10:30am for our special church service.

In preparation of this special day, we are asking all members to share their memories at FBC.  You can pick up a "Heritage of Faith" memory card in either welcome center and turn them in there as well.

165th anniversary

In 2019 FBC Fayetteville celebrated our 165th anniversary with a booklet for our members to take home and read. The booklet included articles and testimonials about how FBC has started organizations that serve the community and how FBC has touched people for the first time.

Booklet can be accessed HERE.

150th Anniversary

Over the years the church moved from the homes of members to a frame building on College Avenue, to the domed Greek Revival church on the corner of College and Dickson and then to the present building with periodic space additions. Pictures and history of the past and present church buildings reveal the continued commitment of the church to remain in the heart of Fayetteville. The history One Faith, One Hope by Tammi Reed Ledbetter written for the 150 year celebration in 2004 traces distinctive priorities held throughout the years. The pages of this website reveal that First Baptist Church continues to value biblical beliefs, worship, missions and evangelism, fellowship, education/discipleship, and stewardship.
