Who We Are

First Baptist Church Fayetteville has long been known for the variety of people who are members. They represent every social and economic classification, multiple races and nationalities, and every living generation. A scholar, a farmer/carpenter, and a pioneer preacher who founded the church over 165 years ago launched a congregation whose cultural distinctions fade away as they unite together in a common mission to "love God, love fellow believers, and love all people." As an autonomous local church we join with other churches in the Washington-Madison Baptist Association, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention to do together what no one church can do alone.

G E T T I N G   H E R E :

First Baptist Fayetteville is located at the corner of College & Dickson Street. Parking is not a problem. We have several lots that surround the church and the south lot on the corner of Highland and Dickson is reserved especially for our guests. If you park in our guest lot you will come in the entrance to the church where the Information Center is located.

Over the years the church moved from the homes of members to a frame building on College Avenue, to the domed Greek Revival church on the corner of College and Dickson and then to the present building with periodic space additions. Pictures and history of the past and present church buildings reveal the continued commitment of the church to remain in the heart of Fayetteville.
